BIG MONKEY BOOK

For the past few weeks, Graham has been obsessed with his complete collection of Curious George stories, otherwise known as "Big Monkey Book." Nana and Papa bought him his very first Curious George and "Monkey," even sits at the table for breakfast these days.
I just returned from a memorable visit with my extended family in Ohio, so I don't have many pictures to post. Scott held down the fort while I was away and Nana drove down to help for a day as well. My dad and I spent some quality time with my Grandma Janet, aunts, uncles and cousins and we also took an extensive tour down memory lane. It was lovely, but now it's nice to be home with my boys!
Before Dad drove back home, he packed the rest of our sand and gravel into his car to use at his house. Graham helped of course!

BYE-BYE MANKIE!!!

With solemn determination and quite a bit of hesitation, Grahamy said good-bye to his beloved pacifier (Mankie) today. He and I gathered all the Mankies into a bag and deposited them at our local hospital for the "new babies." Scott and I are celebrating our Big Boy, but we're saddened as well. Our baby is truly gone. His naps will suffer for a few days (hopefully not longer), while he adjusts.
Talking book!
Graham likes to man the hose!!!

weekend pictures

Scott and I are so atypical in many ways, especially where gender stereotypes are concerned. Graham gets a hardy dose of both Mom and Dad each day, so he sees us both clean, cook, work and play. Yet, Graham is such a typical (or stereotypical) boy. Beyond rocks, water and dirt, he also has a fascination with vehicles. He loves cars, boats, trains and especially airplanes! Here are a few pictures of Grahamy playing with a car and waiting on his french toast early Saturday morning.

Graham and a bucket full of gravel

We have had a drainage problem in our backyard for quite some time. Standing water collects on our patio when it rains and part of our yard ends up looking like a pond. Scott finally devised a plan and with the help of a buddy, he tackled the problem this weekend. Here are some pictures of Grahamy lending a hand as well...

FUN!!! Rocks, sand, dirt and a giant hole in the backyard! Graham LOVED watching Dad dig and especially loved throwing gravel into the 2+ ft. hole he created in the backyard. I didn't take "after" pictures, but it looks a lot neater and after a little more tender love and landscaping, our backyard will be much improved! Way to go Daddy!
